WMS Titan Robotics Club teams continued their upward swing this week with awesome league play. There was a flurry of activity in practice after last week’s events with the students working hard during practice.
It is really amazing to see the team’s work with such focus to improve and to see them improve week after week. No doubt this is in anticipation of us entering a regional tournament in two weeks.
Robotics Club League
Watching the league matches is always exciting for a Vex mentor and this week was no different. Teams arrived with time to spare and worked hard in the robotics pits on last minute changes.

I was most excited to see teams 5794C and 5794B score their first points autonomously. Team 5794C has their code dialed in to score and remained consistent. Team 5794B was a surprise because I hadn’t noticed them testing in practice.

Team 5794D was fun to watch with our club’s first working intake. It needs work but the team was able to use it to score.

Team 5794A continues to work on their design. It will be interesting to see how much they have done next week!

Robotics Club Practice
Once again practice went quickly as the teams are staying focused on improving their robots in anticipation of the November 14th tournament.
Here are this week’s team leaders.
- 5794A – Owen H.
- 5794B – Quinn G.
- 5794C – Hunter B.
- 5794D – Zoe W.

The robotics club team’s designs evolve every week. Most of the teams have settled in to a “final design” they are shooting for. One of the most valuable skills they are honing is the ability to set manageable goals each week.

By now most of the students have identified which parts of robotics club they like the most. Some enjoy design, others building, most driving, and quite a few programming.

Robotics Club Fund Raising
Thanks to our sponsors, new parts arrived this week. As usual, the students were super excited to see all the new stuff. More importantly, they now have parts to use for their final designs.
