I decided to try raising some dwarf citrus trees to see how well they do here in northern Michigan. My daughter was very excited at the local greenhouse looking at all the plants but was particularly amazed when she saw the “baby” lemon and lime trees. I couldn’t say no and so we welcomed a lemon and a lime tree to the homestead.
As well as providing tasty fruit, these plants make good house plants in the winter. I chose to start out with a dwarf lemon tree and a dwarf lime tree because the family enjoys adding lemon to their water and tea and I enjoy cooking with limes. Both dwarf citrus were transplanted into pots and put out on our deck. I used simple potting soil.
